It has a beautiful view but the dining experience has much to be desired.

Good food and a great view!

This place screams tourist trap..

Beautiful location, outstanding interior decor with LOTS of wood, which fits the location perfectly. Beautiful view of the sunset over the New River Gorge. While most seating is technically indoors, the walls are mostly huge open windows allowing unrestricted views of the surrounding heavy woods as well as the charming night sounds, and there is a large patio for true outdoor seating. It was a bit on the pricey side but the food was good quality and well-prepared. I would give 5 stars but the service was rather slow due to a staffing shortage. Understand that happens sometimes but I felt that the management could have pitched in more to help out the overburdened wait staff, who were apologetic and seemed to be doing the best they could.

DO NOT make reservations here. This is one of the worst restaurants I've been to in a long time, and my expectations weren't that high to begin with. We were celebrating my parents' wedding anniversary and called weeks in advance to make plans for a special family dinner here while staying at a nearby cabin. They had our phone number and reservation the morning of the dinner, but when we showed up they said with a mild apology that their stoves weren't working due to some kind of electrical problem. They never called us to give us a heads-up, nor did it look like anyone cared about the problem. They invited us to go upstairs and next door to their sister "restaurant" (a bar) but they didn't give us any discount there. AND it gets worse... Other than several employees the main restaurant was empty while the bar was full, but everything seemed oddly in order at the restaurant. A little while later we noticed there was a large wedding party having their reception at in the same restaurant with lots of food - very strange. Our guess? They will take your reservation until they have a bigger party, and then they will force all the smaller reservations to go to the bar to keep your money and the money from the bigger party. It's a tourist place, so I doubt anyone ever catches on. The food at the bar wasn't that great either. :(

Cheerful courteous service, great food, excellent location.

The windows and doors were wide open during our visit which made for a warm and humid sitting experience which also lead to the flies and bees flying around and landing on us while eating.

For the price you should expect much much more. Portions are small. Sides are not included and need to be ordered separately. During our visit the waitstaff was unsure of the menu items when we asked questions. Our cedar plank salmon orders were undercooked and not even served on a cedar plank. Kinda strange if you ask me. The orders were sent back and new pieces were cooked & brought back..STILL UNDERCOOKED..what? $22 salmon and undercooked 4 times between 2 people.
